Impurities and stains are attached to the surface of the stainless steel plate, which seems to be difficult to handle. In fact, everyone is wrong. Here, I will share with you the different treatment methods of different impurities in the stainless steel plate.

1. Dust with impurities on the surface of stainless steel

The production is often carried out in a dusty site, and there is often a lot of dust in the air, which continuously falls on the surface of the equipment. They can be removed with water or alkaline solutions. Adhesive grime, however, requires high-pressure water or steam for cleaning.

2. Floating iron powder with impurities on the surface of stainless steel

As pointed out in Standard A380 [3], if the rust test solution cannot be completely removed, it is not recommended to use this test method on the technical surface of the equipment, that is, the direct contact surface used for the production of human consumer products. A simpler test method is to expose it to water for 12-24 hours to check for rust spots. This test is insensitive and time-consuming. These are testing tests, not cleaning methods. If iron is found, it must be cleaned up by chemical and electrochemical methods described later.

3. Paint, chalk and marker pens with impurities on the stainless steel surface

The effects of these contaminants are similar to those of oils and greases. Washing with a clean brush and clean water or alkaline cleaner is recommended, and high pressure water or steam can also be used.

4. Flux with impurities on the surface of stainless steel

The welding process using flux includes manual welding, flux-cored arc welding and submerged arc welding. These welding processes will leave fine flux particles on the surface, which cannot be removed by ordinary cleaning methods. This particle will be a source of crevice corrosion, and mechanical cleaning methods must be used to remove these residual flux.
