The processing quality of ASTM A106 GRB seamless pipes directly affects the safety and service life of the pipeline system. Therefore, the following aspects should be given special attention:

Cutting: Mechanical cutting (such as band sawing or abrasive wheel sawing) or plasma cutting is recommended to ensure a smooth and crack-free cut. After thermal cutting, the heat-affected zone needs to be removed to avoid affecting the subsequent welding quality.

Groove: Select V-shaped, U-shaped or composite grooves based on the wall thickness. The groove surface should be smooth without layering. The groove angle is typically 30° - 37.5°, and the root edge is approximately 1.6mm. Oil and oxide layers should be removed.

Welding: Preferably use matching welding materials (such as ER70S-6). Use multi-layer and multi-pass welding, and control the interlayer temperature. Preheat before welding (100 - 150℃ is recommended when the wall thickness is ≥ 25mm), and perform slow cooling or heat treatment as needed to prevent cold cracking.
