Product Features and Advantages
Superior corrosion resistance
316 SS Bar contains 16%-18% chromium, 10%-14% nickel and 2%-3% molybdenum. Molybdenum significantly enhances the material's resistance to chloride ions. And it can withstand the erosion of highly corrosive environments such as seawater and acidic solutions (such as sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid)
Excellent high temperature resistance
316 SS round bar can maintain stable mechanical properties in high temperature environments below 800℃. It will not become brittle or lose strength due to high temperature. It can be used for mechanical parts and heating equipment components under high temperature conditions. Also, it can solve the problem of "easy failure at high temperature" of ordinary stainless steel.
Good machinability and weldability
316 stainless steel round bar has an elongation of ≥40% and a hardness of ≤210HB. The performance makes it easy to perform machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, and bending. Furthermore, its corrosion resistance can be restored without complex heat treatment after welding.

What is the difference between 316 SS bar and 316L SS bar? How should I choose?
316 SS bar has a carbon content ≤0.08%, higher strength, and is suitable for applications requiring high strength (such as mechanical parts); 316L SS bar has a carbon content ≤0.03%, stronger corrosion resistance after welding, and is suitable for applications requiring frequent welding (such as chemical pipelines). If your application does not require frequent welding, 316 SS bar offers better value for money; if welding is involved and long-term exposure to corrosive environments is required, 316L SS bar is recommended.
Can you customize 316 SS round bars with an outer diameter exceeding 200mm? What is the lead time?
Customization is possible, with a maximum outer diameter of 300mm for 316 SS round bars. For products with a custom outer diameter of 200mm-300mm, the delivery time is 5-7 working days longer than standard specifications (adjustments to the rolling die are required). Please contact our sales team for details; we will optimize the delivery time based on die inventory.
What should be done if the tensile strength of the purchased 316 SS bar is found to be substandard during subsequent processing?
If an authoritative institution (such as SGS or the National Metal Testing Center) confirms that the tensile strength is less than ≥515MPa, the company will unconditionally process a return or exchange for you and bear all related costs, including testing fees and shipping costs. We will also analyze the cause of the problem (such as deviations in the heat treatment process) to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
Can 316 SS bar be delivered in batches for bulk purchases? Can the payment method be negotiated?
Yes, it can be delivered in batches. If the purchase quantity is ≥20 tons, we can agree on batch delivery with the company (e.g., 5 tons per month for 4 months). The quantity and delivery time will be confirmed before each batch to ensure it matches the customer's production schedule. The payment method supports "30% prepayment + 70% balance (within 30 days after acceptance of goods)". Long-term cooperative customers can negotiate more flexible payment methods (e.g., monthly settlement).
