The aerospace industry has extremely strict requirements for materials, involving high temperatures, high pressures, corrosive media, and complex alternating loads. The 347 stainless steel tube, due to its excellent high-temperature strength, good intergranular corrosion resistance, and stable microstructure characteristics, plays a significant role in aircraft engines, exhaust systems, and high-temperature pipelines.

In terms of the core selection criteria, for aerospace-grade 347 stainless steel tubes, the following key parameters need to be given particular attention: Firstly, the high-temperature endurance strength. The material should maintain a high resistance to creep at temperatures ranging from 500°C to 700°C to ensure the safety of long-term service; Secondly, the intergranular corrosion resistance. Since aerospace components involve a large number of welding processes, the material must have the ability to resist corrosion without post-weld treatment; Thirdly, the organizational stability. During repeated thermal cycles, no harmful phases should precipitate to avoid performance degradation.

Typical application scenarios include the cooling pipelines of the tail nozzle of aircraft engines, the fuel conduits of the thrust chamber, and the high-temperature sections of the exhaust system. The cooling pipeline of the turbine rear casing of a certain type of civil aircraft engine uses 347 stainless steel tubes. The working temperature is approximately 550℃, and the medium is high-temperature air and trace amounts of gas. After thousands of hours of operation, the pipeline remains in good condition. Moreover, the propellant delivery pipelines of rocket engines often use 347 stainless steel tubes under alternating low-temperature and high-temperature conditions. Their excellent low-temperature toughness and high-temperature strength can meet the requirements of extreme conditions.

Regarding the selection of materials, it is advisable to prioritize the use of 347 stainless steel tubes that comply with AMS 5571 (aviation material specification) or ASTM A213 standards. These standards have more stringent requirements for non-metallic inclusions, grain size, and non-destructive testing. At the same time, the supplier should be requested to provide complete raw material quality certificates and heat treatment records to ensure material traceability. In terms of welding processes, it is recommended to use argon arc welding and select 347 same-material welding rods to ensure the stability of the weld seam structure.
