UNS N05500 is known as Monel K500. Its core performance lies in the aluminum-titanium aging hardening mechanism. This alloy is composed of a nickel-copper matrix with added aluminum and titanium, which undergoes a solution treatment followed by aging treatment. This results in the precipitation of fine Ni₃(Al, Ti) precipitates, achieving a significant increase in strength. In terms of typical mechanical properties, the tensile strength of the aged K500 is approximately 1034 MPa, the yield strength is about 724 MPa, the hardness reaches 250–315 HBW, and the elongation is approximately 20%. Compared to the annealed state of Monel 400, the yield strength increases by approximately three times, and the tensile strength increases by approximately twice. The density is 8.44–8.47 g/cm³, and the melting point is approximately 1350°C. This alloy maintains high strength while having comparable corrosion resistance to Monel 400, suitable for pump shafts, valve stems, fasteners, and marine engineering components.
