The metallographic structure of 904L stainless steel plate: 904L is a complete austenitic structure. Compared with the general austenitic stainless steel with high molybdenum content, 904L is not sensitive to the precipitation of ferrite and α phase.

904L stainless steel plate is a low-carbon high-nickel, molybdenum austenitic stainless acid-resistant steel. It has very good activation-passivation transformation ability, excellent corrosion resistance, good corrosion resistance in non-oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, phosphoric acid, and good corrosion resistance in neutral chloride ion-containing media. Excellent pitting corrosion resistance, good crevice corrosion resistance and stress corrosion resistance. It is suitable for sulfuric acid of various concentrations below 70°C, and has good corrosion resistance against acetic acid of any concentration and temperature under normal pressure and the mixed acid of formic acid and acetic acid.

When processing 904L stainless steel plate, the heat generated by the tool and the tool is high, and the tool is easy to wear. Therefore, there are certain requirements for the tool, which must be wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant. At the same time, make the cutting edge sharp and choose a reasonable angle. The 904L stainless steel plate rotates slowly, and the force is greater when cutting. Production efficiency is not high.
