The valve stem is subjected to repeated opening and closing torsional and tensile loads in seawater or chemical media, and is exposed to corrosive environments. The tensile strength of K500 after aging is approximately 1034 MPa, the yield strength is approximately 724 MPa, the hardness is 250–315 HBW, providing sufficient anti-deformation and anti-abrasion capabilities for the valve stem. In terms of corrosion resistance, K500 has good resistance to seawater, chloride solutions, and various chemical media, and is resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking, suitable for marine and chemical valve operating conditions. When used in conjunction with aluminum bronze valve bodies, the corrosion resistance grade of K500 valve stems matches well, and the high strength can reduce the risk of rod damage caused by operational jamming or incorrect operation. It should be avoided for use in strongly oxidizing acids (such as nitric acid), as such media will destroy the protective film of the nickel-copper alloy.
Jiangsu Cunrui Metal Products Co., Ltd. We supply K500 alloy bar materials for valve stems, with stable dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties. Customers in the valve industry are welcome to contact us.
